In case you are wondering, Ford has reportedly been under pressure from the White House to take this video down. Coincidently, Ford says that it is not removing the video as reaction to political pressure, but it is removing the advertisement because it has reached the end of its rotation. So, the participant in the commercial who freelanced his speech on bailout has posted the video as he taped it from a FOX News telecast. Ford, it seems, not only took down the video, but it removed it from the YouTube website claiming, rightfully, but strangely, its intellectual property rights. I say strangely because FORD has left most of its commercials on YouTube to be replayed by interested people. Although many people have praised this commercial and think it is a great statement that sets Ford apart from its competitors in the minds of customers, they are willfully throwing away a valuable tool simply because its rotation has ended? Does that make any sense to you? What do you think? Election year politics or coincidence? Is this business as usual or more government interference in business and the U.S. economy?
