Ouch, Massachusetts. Have you considered moving to New Hampshire?
Glad to see another Objectivist on WordPress; I myself have a blog where I review fiction and non-fiction books from an Objectivist perspective. I’ll be subscribing to your site.
I once thought about such a move. However, I shortly realized that there was an exodus of sort already ongoing from here to there. More and more Massachusetts pilgrims have been settling into New Hampshire, especially, on the border area. The irony is that the majority left looking for less taxation and regulation, but brought their inherited down home statist beliefs with them. The result is that, with the obvious exception of a sales tax difference, one can barely tell the difference between a Massachusetts town and a town in New Hampshire along the border. I think most of the original New Hampshirites who used to live along the border have used the proceeds of their home sale to better their economic and individual property rights positions by moving to Houston, Texas.
