The following notice comes from John Belkis

The opposition to our Question 2 have finally come out of hiding. Past
invitations to an open forum on 40B have been declined. Evidently they feel that
it’s safe to appear before a friendly audience such as the recent two offers. On
Monday September 27th I will be at the Drucker Auditorium in Newton at 7:00 PM
for an open public forum on 40B with a Q & A session. Aaron Gornstein of CHAPA
will be speaking for retaining 40B and you all know what I’ll be addressing.

On Thursday October 14th I will be at another public forum at Representative
Jay Kaufman’s monthly “Open House” held at the historic depot in Lexington
Center at 7:30 PM. Tripp Jones of the coalition to protect 40B will be the
opposing speaker.

I would love to have some of you members in attendance and even better to
have a number of folks outside holding repeal 40B signs prior to the start of
the sessions. If anyone would like to do the sign holding bit before either of
the sessions, let me know so I can bring signs with me.

Both of these sites have a voters that elected legislators that have signed
up in opposition to repeal and will most likely be a little hostile to repeal
dialogue, so it should be very interesting evenings. In Lexington it’s
Representative Jay Kaufman and in Newton it’s Representative Ruth Balser and
State Senator Cynthia Stone Creem. Not to be ignored is the fact that of 165
Representatives, only 17 have signed on to the opposition and of the 40 Senators
only three have joined the opposition. These are facts and names we should
remember on election days!

Come join me in a fun evening of pointing out the failures of 40B.

John Belskis

I support John’s efforts and will do everything I can to make these meetings. Please, consider doing the same. Take a few moments and go through the Coalition to Repeal 40B website. I’m sure you can find lots of bullets there to use in a question or debate forum.
