Billerica, Mass. — On Friday, April 23, the Billerica Skatepark Committee will host the first Skate Festival, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., at the Lampson Recreation Complex next to the Boys and Girls Club. Admission is $10, and there will be a game of S.K.A.T.E., with a grand prize of $100. Several local bands, including Manny Mania and Risk will be playing at the event. This sounds like a nice event to attend. It’s reasonably priced. Actually, when you think about all the peace and quiet one may obtain through a small donation that provides an alternate activity to revving up dirt bikes, this could be the bargain of the year. Please consider stopping by or sending in at least a small donation if you can afford one. Summer is right around the corner and there is nothing more annoying than dirt bikes when watching a game on the back porch, sipping some cool, sweet tea…YUM! Please help two kids realize their vision and dream. Show them that community involvement is important and success is always possible with hard work and a good message/product.
