I recently converted all of my computers to Windows 7 and I have to tell you that I am not looking back in any way, shape of form. The Windows 7 platform is the most stable I’ve ever used and in fact, had made my already fast PCs even faster. It installed on the first attempt. However, let me caution you; during the installation it may find some drivers that are incompatible and will make recommendations for removal. Write down any drivers that you remove, install the program; then, go to the manufacturer site for updated drivers if they are not automatically found during the installation/conversion process.

The other advantage I found is that Window Office has a new beta version called Office 2010 that one can download free. It is a fully functioning version and it allows you to keep your older 2007 versions (except for Outlook and One Note) which you can slip in and out of should you encounter bugs with the beta 2010. The only bug I’ve encountered occured when I tried including links in a post while in blog mode. The program just froze forcing me to go back to the 2007 version to complete that particular job. When switching, the program acts as if it’s reinstalling the entire Office program, but in a relatively short period, the conversion takes place and the option of your choice opens up.

I love the Office 2010 version so far, apart from the one flaw that I found. If you feel adventurous, give it a try.
